As Armory Week kicks off, it seems like every corner of Manhattan is home to one art fair or another, and it's hard to keep track of everything on offer. We count no less than 14 fairs of varying sizes, and if you don't plan ahead, it's all-too easy to get caught in the art landslide. So here's our breakdown of the finest that Armory Week has on tap.
Paula Hayes’ Gorgeous Gazing Globes Brighten Madison Square Park
A new public art installation has arrived in Madison Square Park. Created by landscape designer and artist Paula Hayes, Gazing Globes is made up of eighteen crystalline orbs, each encasing a sort of science-fiction scene inside. Super fun, and super creative and our personal pick to be your first outdoor exhibit of the Spring.
Finger Lickin’ Delicious Pies-n-Thighs Arrives In Lower East Side
YES! Pies ‘n’ Thighs, the Williamsburg staple known for tantalizing pies, fried chicken, and donuts, just crossed the bridge and opened its first Manhattan location. Aptly set in the Lower East Side, Pies ‘n’ Thighs has a clean but rustic American feel, very nostalgic, and little bit diner-y. The food is as epic for breakfast and lunch as it is for dinner, but it shines during brunch. Hopefully it eases weekend waits in the notoriously brunch-friendly area, but chances are they’ll all just stay just as packed. Forever.
NYC Beer week? Pffffttt… More Like NYC Beer MONTH!
The official-sounding NYC Beer Week may be just about over--but remember: you live in New York City! EVERY week can be beer week! And while there is plenty of room for debate about which of the hundreds of beer-centric bars around town it's also good to know that there are lots of special occasion, beer-themed events going on all the time. So by all means drink your fill at Torst in Greenpoint, and The Jeffrey on the Upper East Side, and Jimmy's No. 43 in the East Village, and Beer Culture in Hell's Kitchen, and on and on and on. But maybe mix it up a bit too, and check out some of these beery specials going down in March
Winter Fun at MoMA PS1
If you're looking for a way to duck the cold, you could hibernate under the covers..but you could also do something amazing at MoMA PS1. We braved the cold last week and ventured to one of our favorite NYC spots to take in the Arts. With four different exhibits on two floors, we covered every colorful inch. Highly recommended!

The Cooper Hewitt Design Museum Has Finally Reopened, And It Is Fantastic!
For more than six years the Cooper Hewitt, the venerable design museum housed in Andrew Carnegie's almost absurdly magnificent mansion on Fifth Avenue, has been in the throes of on exhaustive, $91 million redesign, renovation, reinvigoration. Reopened and with an updated name, The Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is not only a big deal but is also a huge success.

Noodles, tender pork bellies and savory broth, what could be wrong with that combination? We stopped in to both Ramen Lab and Jin Ramen, and slurped away. Check out what we thought.

Looking for excellent service? A super nice, friendly wait staff that are all friendly, approachable, knowledgeable, and welcoming? How bout a place where your chef stops by your table? Of course you are. Well. Williamsburg's Delaware and Hudson is the perfect place for foodies and those who are new to fine dining. It's also a great place to take out of towners or Manhattan friends who want to try fine dining in Brooklyn. We recommend making a reservation, but it's worth trying to get a table if you don't have one.

While we're all anticpating the Shake Shack overahaul, there are still plenty of fun, funny and delicious things happening. This month there are two Wintry treats to take in.
