Luxury Pools In NYC

While access to many of NYC’s luxury hotel pools require a stay at the property, this isn’t exactly practical for residents who live in the city. We’ve done our research and found ways for you to escape the summer heat and indulge in the most exquisite, private, and beautiful pools Manhattan has to offer, that are actually available to the public. Located all around New York City and conveniently close to several of our Glenwood properties, these pools provide an opportunity to enjoy summer in the city like nothing else.

Jimmy at the James

The Jimmy at the James pool is one you’ll want to take special note of, as it’s a luxury rooftop pool that (get this) does not charge a cover fee. Located 18 stories above street level, the pool is truly a hidden oasis. During the week it’s open strictly to hotel guests (but that’s okay, because you’re probably at work anyway), but get ready to join the fun weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day starting at 3pm for their JIMMY Summer Pool Parties. Don’t let the phrase “pool party” fool you, however. These parties are aimed at the adult crowd, so it’s best to leave the kiddos at home.

Along with plenty of sun and SPF, you can soak in the views and mocktails from their restaurant. There’s plenty of teak decking, chaise lounges for relaxing, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off. Reservations are recommended. Located in Soho, the Jimmy at the James is very convenient for Downtown residents.

Park Hyatt New York

While you technically have to book a treatment in order to have access to the stunning pool at the Park Hyatt, we won’t be too upset about being forced to get a massage. You can book something as short as a 30 minute massage ($150) and gain access to to 61 foot long glass enclosed pool and whirlpool at this Midtown luxury hotel, along with their gym and eucalyptus steam room (perfect for enjoying the ambiance without worrying about burning in the NYC summer heat). Or, if you’re really interested in having access to a luxury lap pool all year long, inquire about their membership options, which allows unlimited use of the facilities for 12 months, no massage required. The pool is open to those 16 and older, unless accompanied by a parent.

The central location of this luxury pool is one both Midtown East and Westside residents will love.

The Peninsula Hotel

Similar to the Park Hyatt, you can gain access to the fabulous rooftop glass-enclosed pool at The Peninsula Hotel in one of two ways: book a spa treatment, or become a member. Membership here also includes full access to their fitness facilities, steam room, sauna, as well as a host of yoga and fitness classes. In addition to the pool, you’ll also have access to their sun deck and garden, meaning you can go in and out of the sun for a dip back into the pool as often as needed. Feel free to order poolside meals here for a full luxury summertime experience.

Glenwood Residential Buildings

As current Glenwood residents know, they don’t need to go far to find a luxury pool, as they have one right in their building! The pools in our buildings range from full sized Olympic pools to lap pools, and are located both indoors and outdoors. As New Yorkers are aware of all too well, having access to an in-building pool is a true treat, and lounging poolside with a good book in hand is something you’ll be able to savor all summer long. For those current and future tenants of Glenwood Luxury Apartments, here are our buildings with pools:
