For The Best Frozen Hot Chocolate: Serendipity 3

Ever since the film Serendipity came out in 2001, Serendipity has been a hot spot for tourists and locals alike wanting to indulge in the famous frozen hot chocolate. While peak times can host quite the wait time, if you’re able to sneak out at non-peak hours (think: weekday afternoons or for an after dinner dessert), you’ll be able to be seated in no time. This two-level cafe also features regular foods and a multitude of other desserts in addition to the frozen hot chocolate, such as the Forbidden Broadway Sundae ($18.95), the Lemon Icebox Pie ($10.95), and the Chocolate Blackout Cake ($12.95). There’s even a Golden Opulence Sundae offered for a whopping $1,000 if you want to get real serious about your dessert! The location is just a few blocks from The Bamford.

A plate of cheesecake and berries!

For The Best Cheesecake: Two Little Red Hens

New York City cheesecake is not something us New Yorkers take lightly, and this is the spot you want to head to on the Upper East Side for the best slice! Two Little Red Hens is located at 86th Street (quite near The Cambridge), and is a bakery hosting all kinds of delightful desserts. From classic cakes, cupcakes, and seasonal pies, this is your go-to spot to pick up anything for a birthday party or dinner party celebration…so good your guests will swear it’s homemade! While you’re there, make sure to grab a pumpkin, cherry, or New York style cheesecake ($36 for a small and $68 for a large.) They also have individual slices of things available for purchase, so you can sample until you find your very favorite!

For The Best Cupcakes: Magnolia Bakery

Anyone who has ever watched Sex and the City knows that Magnolia Bakery needs no introduction. The show made the original West Village location famous (so much so that they still do SATC tours that stop there, daily!) Try the Upper East Side location inside Bloomingdale’s, which is much less crowded. The cupcakes are legendary, with flavors that change seasonally. Current selections include: pumpkin spice, red velvet, butter pecan, carrot, and smores…can it get any more autumn than that?! Cupcakes go for $3.95. Don’t forget to try their Banana Pudding also, a small going for $4.25. A perfect way to stay fueled during a shopping spree!
