Baked by Melissa: Among the Best Bakeries in Soho, Manhattan
With Baked By Melissa, you can order cupcakes online… or just show up and enjoy!
They're cute, they're sweet, they're exploding with gooey fillings, they're fun, colorful and crazy popular at parties. Honestly: what's not to like about the mini-cupcakes at Baked by Melissa?
Served out of little window in a bakery in Soho Manhattan, or, amazingly, available for delivery when you order the cupcakes online, these two-bite (or, in our case, one-bite) treats come in seven seriously-scrumptious flavors and make for a great birthday cake alternative or festive addition to any gathering's dessert table. Our favorites have to be the Peanut Butter Cup, the Cookie Dough, and the S'mores, but we're definitely not turning down the Peanut Butter and Jelly or the Red Velvet, either!
Here's how you can get your hands on – and mouth around – these little beauties:
1. Show up at the Baked by Melissa window on Spring Street and order your cupcakes on the spot, in bunches of 3, 6, 12 (for your on-the-go pleasure), or 25, 50, even 100, your flavors all mixed and matched, packaged in a clever, egg-carton-like box that'll keep your sweet cargo safe and ready to party.
2. Buy cupcakes online by going to the Baked by Melissa website for batches of 100 and up, and, with only a couple of days' notice, she'll bake, package and deliver your order anywhere in New York City.
Ordering cupcakes online is a great add-on. These are not the best cupcakes in Manhattan, (that title, in our humble opinion, belongs to the heavenly creations from Sugar Sweet Sunshine Bakery), but they are genuinely tasty and sweetly satisfying, and they're so ridiculously fun to serve and to eat that they should come with some sort of over-indulgence warning.
