Asphalt Green Sports & Fitness Center Coming to Battery Park City
For downtown Glenwood residents, this is very good news indeed. Asphalt Green, one of New York City’s finest sports and fitness centers, is coming to Battery Park City. Set to open this winter right on North End Avenue and Murray Street, the Battery Park City Asphalt Green campus is a fantastic 52,000 square foot facility with teams, classes and equipment for all ages and skill levels. And, maybe best of all, Glenwood residents can take advantage of some terrific Charter Membership specials now at the Battery Park City Asphalt Green, with deals and packages that can save you up to $150 right away, and an additional $15 a month.
They’re still putting on the finishing touches, but the Battery Park City Asphalt Green campus looks like it’s going to be terrific. There’s a 25-yard, six-lane Asphalt Green pool as well as a warm-water teaching and exercise pool. A comprehensive collection of cutting-edge Precor® cardio and strength equipment is complemented by a large selection of free-weights. The gym is fully equipped for basketball and indoor soccer. And there will plenty of fitness classes, training sessions, and organized team sports like soccer, baseball, and basketball. Plus, newly-signed charter members can start right away with a couple of Asphalt Green’s outdoor classes, Running Skills and Strength, as well as Outdoor Boot Camp!
But the not-for-profit Asphalt Green has always been more than a just another gym, and the new Battery Park City campus is no exception. On the more community-center end of things, the Asphalt Green BPC facility boasts a half-dozen art studios and classrooms; theater, dance and music groups; a fully loaded Culinary Center for their line up of cooking and baking classes; and a state-of-the-art, 156-seat theater for screenings and lectures. The Battery Park City campus of Asphalt is scheduled to open this winter, and is located on the corner of North End Avenue and Murray Street.
