Chef Alex Stupak has been making very good food for a bunch of years now - tasty tacos and even better drinks, not to mention mounds of the best guacamole available anywhere in the city. At his brand new and predictably packed Empellon Al Pastor on St. Marks, Stupak is turning out some amazing, you guessed it, TACOS, including a truly remarkable version of the joint's namesake creation. These two eagerly-anticipated restaurants, from a pair of beloved NYC institutions (one new, the other as venerable as it gets) recently opened in downtown Manhattan within a few blocks of each other.
