February Events in New York City
February – the month of all things love and long weekends galore (thank you, President’s Day!). While it may be the shortest month of the year, there’s certainly no shortage of things to do in New York City, and we’ve rounded up the best of the best. You’ll find ways to celebrate with all your loves this month, whether that’s your best gal pal, your romantic flame, your furry friend, your adorable child, or your fabulous self!
This One’s For The Girls: February 2nd-24th
This One’s For The Girls is a high-energy musical, celebrating women, featuring classic popular songs like I am Woman, Respect, Stand by Your Man, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, These Boots are Made for Walkin’, I Will Survive, and Greatest Love of All. You’ll leave bopping your head and shimming your feet to the beat!
The show is taking place all month long at the cozy St. Luke’s Theatre, located in Midtown. Grab a ticket for Friday or Saturday (tickets start at $44), and invite your best girlfriend to go with you. We personally think this would make an excellent Galentines date!

Kosher Food and Wine Experience: February 5th
Held at Chelsea Piers Pier 60, the Kosher Food and Wine Experience is an excellent place to sample over 300 kosher wines and foods, while enjoying live music! It offers the largest selection of Israeli wines in NYC, so it’s truly an opportunity to expand your palette. And don’t go expecting just typical kosher food, as they will be offering cuisines ranging from:
- Fresh sushi
- Smokey and tangy BBQ
- Asian cuisine
- French flare
- Mexican recipes
- Caribbean dishes
Best of all, every bite is prepared kosherly! General admission tickets may be purchased in advance on their website for $125. The event lasts from 5:30pm to 9:30pm, and is for people 21 and up.
Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show: February 12th-13th
It’s no secret that New Yorkers are absolutely crazy about their dogs – perhaps their greatest Valentine of all, if we’re being honest! February brings the perfect event to celebrate everything furry with the 142nd Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. With both daytime and evening events, there’s plenty of selection to score a ticket that fits your schedule. Best-In-Show (the most popular part of the event that is televised) will be taking place at Madison Square Garden, which is an easy walk for Glenwood residents living in the Emerald Green building.

Romance Under The Stars: February 14th
Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History is hosting a Valentine’s event that promises to be a good one: Romance Under the Stars!
While it may be too cold in NYC to stand in Central Park this time of year and star gaze, the planetarium has you covered with shelter, live jazz by the Josh Rutner Quartet, an open bar, chocolate galore, hors d’oeuvres, and a view of the stars complete with love stories based on mythology. There are two events, one at 6:30pm and the next at 9pm, and tickets are $125, available on their website.
Glenwood residents of Hawthorn Park will find this incredibly easy to get to!
New York International Children’s Film Festival: February 23rd-March 18th
The New York International Children’s Film Festival is beginning on February 23rd, and shows new, inspiring, and thought-provoking films about youth from around the world, suitable for families. Children aged 3 to 18 are encouraged to attend, and when you head to their website to choose films, they instruct you as to the age appropriate level of each one (some will say “suitable for all ages” while others may say “8+”).
Tickets are $14, and screenings are held at various theaters around Manhattan, making this an ideal event for any Glenwood resident!Tweet
