Located in the heart of Midtown at 57th and Park, this ultra-luxe offshoot of the original Spa Castle in College Point, Queens offers a crazy amount of physical pleasures and deep relaxation opportunities, all in super-sleek, counterintuitively almost psychedelic environment. And although the outdoor bade pool (basically a shallow pool with intense massaging jets of water coming at you from all angles) won't open until the summer, everything else at Spa Castle Premiere 57 is up and running and waiting for you and your crew.
Pamper Yourself at Manhattan Spa Castle
There are two levels of enjoyment at the Manhattan Spa Castle. Entry to the sprawling, three-floor facility costs you $65, no reservations required, and gives you access to, among other things, the huge, indoor hydrotherapy bade pool, which includes Floating Jets for a foot massage, Standing Neck Shower for your shoulders and head, and, my favorite, the full body massage of the Seated Hydro Jet. Oh and did I mention that you can get cocktails here at the Spa Castle Premier? Just swim up to the Bubble Bar, and sip something soothing in a seat that has you "floating in a million bubbles". There are also a half dozen different rooms available in Sauna Valley, such as the Himalayan Salt Sauna, the aromatherapeutic Loess Soil Sauna, and the bracing Ice Igloo. Rounding out the basic Spa Castle Premier experience are the single-sex water lounges (bathing gear not permitted), and the Resting Lounges, which seem like an excellent place to take a quick nap.

Of course, if you REALLY want to pamper yourself (and/or your sweetheart), Spa Castle Premier 57 also a full menu of facials, massages, reflexology, body treatments (wraps, detoxes, "targeted slimming"), and Traditional Korean Body Scrubs. These can be purchased individually, with add-ons like Puffy and Sagging Eye Treatment or Life and Glow Booster, or as part of one of several deluxe packages, or Premier Retreats, all of which will cost you considerably more than that entrance fee. Either way, you're pretty much guaranteed to feel a whole lot more relaxed, and fresh, and alive, than when you went in.

Manhattan's Spa Castle Premier 57 is located on 57th Street near Park Avenue, on the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors of the Galleria Building, and is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight. Reservations are suggested for all Beauty Spa treatments, though walk-ins are always welcome. For lots more information about everything, see here. The College Point Spa Castle is much larger (no surprise, given that it's basically in the suburbs), less expensive (again, no surprise), and kind of a pain to get to from Manhattan, with no subway access, which also makes it's clientele appealingly local. Over the years many friends of mine have had a blast out there, making a full day trip out of the adventure, but you definitely need a car and a willingness to travel.
