From Monday August 26th, through Sunday September 8th, watch your favorite players battle it out at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Some Tips For Attending The Tournament
This year is the 139th US Open tournament with men and women’s singles defending champions Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka! If you have never attended the US Open before, you are in for a treat! The stadium is filled with tents for food, drinks, and tennis paraphernalia! If you want to spend some time shopping and looking around make sure to enter the stadium early! Also, a great tip is to wear sneakers–there is a ton of walking with big crowds, so be ready! Even if you dress up for the occasion, you will be happy you wore sneakers! Both the day and night matches are a perfect and exciting way to end the summer!
How to get there? Train or taxi are both easy options. The stadium is located at 124 Roosevelt Ave in Flushing, NY. If you are looking to hop on a train from Manhattan the quickest is to take the line 7 subway which has a stop at Mets-Willets Point. The stadium is only a 10 minute walk away!

US Open Kids’s Day
If you kids are fans of tennis, Saturday August 24that 1pm is Kids’s Day! Be sure to get tickets if you think your family would enjoy this special day! There will be numerous free events for the kids to partake in from face painting, balloon artists, music and much more! Gates open at 9:30am and the day is sponsored by Net Generation. If you are a Glenwood uptown or downtown resident with a child interested in the sport, this is a great way to peak their interest further!
