We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it’s also the meal many New Yorkers tend to skip. This month we’ve chosen a restaurant in Midtown West Manhattan that believes in wholesome, refreshing, and feel good breakfast options that will give you all the energy to tackle the day. Let’s dig in to Glenwood’s April Restaurant of the Month: The NoMad.

Located at 1170 Broadway in Midtown, this spot is centrally located within The NoMad Hotel atrium. The mellow, but oh so sophisticated vibe is inspired by lush courtyards of Europe, with a ton of natural sunlight. It’s the perfect place to hold morning business meetings, or to take visiting family out for a weekend meal. While The NoMad serves four menus covering breakfast, brunch, lunch, and of course dinner, we’ll be focusing on their most popular breakfast dishes for residents of Glenwood’s nearby Crystal Green to enjoy.

The Drink Menu

Coffee is the number one morning accessory in Manhattan, but if you’d prefer less caffeine and more fruits, The NoMad has a variety of drink options. Besides the standard (but still tasty!) cup of morning coffee, we recommend the fresh juices and smoothies. Juice options range from orange, grapefruit, carrot, and green veggies, which all pair perfectly with the upcoming warm weather. The smoothies are perfectly blended with seasonal fruits, chilled almond milk, and creamy yogurt.

For tea drinkers, The NoMad offers warm cups of green and yellow, oolong, herbal, and black teas. Our favorite is the lavender mint and lemon verbena (try pairing the two tea bag flavors together for a refreshing mix!).

The Hearty Breakfast Menu

The menu of The NoMad really makes us see why breakfast is the not-to-miss meal of the day, and after tasting the following options, we advise residents of Emerald Green not to miss out! The seasonal quiches, sweet pastries, baked eggs, and orders of fresh fruit perfectly compliment any of the following breakfast entrees:

  • French Toast – $19 – fluffy toast topped with sliced bananas, walnuts, and a fresh maple glaze
  • Breakfast Sandwich – $21 – duck sausage, eggs, and cheddar on a house-baked English muffin
  • Eggs Benedict – $28 – prepared with smoked salmon, tarragon, and hollandaise

If you’re in the mood to treat yourself to a meal out or are hosting a casual business meeting, we recommend trying The NoMad breakfast for $34. This dish gives you the option to pick and choose what you’d like, starting off with fresh juice, coffee, or tea. Next, pick either multigrain toast or two eggs of any style to you liking. Finally, chose your protein from bacon or sausage, and roasted potatoes or avocado with tomato.

With so many options for The NoMad Breakfast, you can practically create your own concoction each visit! Not only will this wholesome meal keep you fueled well until lunch, but the quality of ingredients are second to none.
