Randall’s Island Outdoor Movie Night

This May 24th– September 8th Randall’s Island is hosting outdoor movies! It will take place in Field 81 of Randall’s Island. The first showing on Friday May 24th will be The Incredibles 2 from 8:30-10:35pm. Another highlight is Mary Poppins, which will show on Saturday June 8th from 8:40-10:50. The best part of this is that it is free! Yes, you read that right! Free! And, if you show up early there will be fun crafts and activities for the family! All Glenwood residents should be sure to check this out!

Canoeing In Central Park

Have you wanted to try canoeing before? Well, now is your chance! On May 19thfrom 11am-12:30pm Central Park is offering guided canoeing tours for free! Meet at Harlem Meer in Central Park located at 110thand Lennox Avenue. The line to participate closes before 12:30pm though as this is such a popular event, so be sure to arrive early to be able to enjoy canoeing! This is closest to Glenwood’s Upper East Side residents like those in Hampton Court.

If you are a fan of Bryant Park’s winter village, this is definitely the activity for you! Bryant Park is introducing a spring fresh air market this year! Running from May 10th through June 2nd be sure to check out the 80 vendors as you stroll through all of the great craft, jewelry, and food booths! Who doesn’t love a nice walk in the spring? This is a great activity for the whole family. Uptown and downtown Glenwood residents will love this market!

Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit

If you are an art lover, check out the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit running from May 25th  to June 2nd  in Greenwich Village. This is closest to Glenwood’s downtown residents, but run for all to visit. This art show occurs twice a year on Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend, and the weekends directly following those holiday weekends. The show runs from East 13th  Street on Washington Square Park to West 3rd  Street.

If you have a terrace or balcony, try growing some plants this spring! It is a very fun, family friendly activity that can allow you to be creative and enjoy all the blooming flowers spring has to offer! This is an activity that both adults and children will love! You may not have a backyard in NYC, but this is a great way to get some fresh air while doing something fun!
