Enjoy The Tennis US Open This September
If you are a tennis fan, the US Open is one of the exciting events happening now! Tennis lovers be sure to watch your favorite players battle it out at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Glenwood residents who love tennis should definitely not miss out on these matches!
Some Tips For Attending The Tournament

This year is the 143rd US Open tournament with men and women’s singles defending champions Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka! If you have never attended the US Open before, you are in for a treat! The stadium is filled with tents for food, drinks, and tennis paraphernalia! The food highlight this year is the COQODAQ fried chicken and caviar, if you want to try the fried chicken without the hefty caviar tag their fried chicken sandwich is a winner as is their peaches and cream frozen yogurt! If you want to spend some time shopping and looking around make sure to enter the stadium early- the official tournament shop to the Polo store has adorable finds! Also, a great tip is to wear sneakers–there is a ton of walking with big crowds, so be ready! Even if you dress up for the occasion, you will be happy you wore sneakers! Both the day and night matches are a perfect and exciting way to end the summer!
How to get there? Train or taxi are both easy options. The stadium is located at 124 Roosevelt Ave in Flushing, NY. If you are looking to hop on a train from Manhattan the quickest is to take the line 7 subway which has a stop at Mets-Willets Point. The stadium is only a 10 minute walk away!
