How to Celebrate Mother’s Day in NYC

What better city is there to celebrate Mother’s Day in than New York City! Mother’s Day is quickly approaching on Sunday, May 12th, and there are so many different ways to show the mother figure in your life appreciation from spending time outdoors, enjoying a great brunch, or planning a fun activity! New York City’s  versatility is great for choosing an activity your mother will surely enjoy! There are great options close to Glenwood buildings uptown and downtown.

If your mother loves nature, be sure to check out some of the great options the city has to offer!

 

  • Walk The Highline

    • Stroll the 1.45 mile long highline in downtown Manhattan! There are great shops and cafes along the way.. If your mother is from out of town, this is a great way to see and get a feel for New York City! Hopefully Mother’s Day will be a sunny day to allow for a stroll! This activity is great for downtown Glenwood residents.

 

  • Walk The Central Park Reservoir

    • See the beautiful foliage and city skyline as you take a brisk 1.8 mile walk around the reservoir. There are great cafes to stop at afterwards near the reservoir such as Blue Stone Lane at 1085 5th Sit outside Blue Stone Lane if it is nice, or experience the gorgeous interior that is built into the side of a church. Eli Zabar’s at 1064 Madison Avenue is also close if you want to grab a delicious brunch! Sarabeth’s is a very popular breakfast or lunch spot to grab a delicious bite at 1295th Madison Avenue. This is a great activity for uptown Glenwood residents.

 

  • Cross the Brooklyn Bridge

    • If you are looking for something a bit adventurous, try walking across the Brooklyn Bridge! It is a great way to spend the afternoon! It is only a mile long, so don’t worry, it is definitely an afternoon trip worth taking! Especially if you are a Glenwood downtown resident, it is a super fun way to spend this Mother’s Day!

 

  • Mother’s Day Boat Cruise

    • Click here to check out Hornblower’s Mother’s Day Cruise. It is a champagne brunch cruise with a live jazz band—what a great way to spoil your mother! It begins to board at 11:30am and returns at 2pm. It leaves from Pier 40 in the West Village, convenient for Glenwood downtown residents.

 

Customize Your Own Perfume

 

A unique activity that could be very fun to celebrate Mother’s Day is to customize perfumes with one another! There are two great locations to do this. You can visit Olfactory NYC on 281 Mott Street or Scenterprises on 85 Franklin Street. This activity is closest to Glenwood downtown residents in Liberty Plaza or Barclay Tower.
