Anastasia The Musical: January 2nd through March 31st

If you’re looking for the perfect family friendly winter musical to enjoy this month, we recommend Anastasia The Musical. Inspired by the beloved Disney film, the show will transport you from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of 1920’s Paris, as a young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. With sparkling costumes, gorgeous sets, and themes of home, love, and family, Anastasia is a heartwarming musical that (almost) the whole family can enjoy. It’s recommended for children seven and older, and since the show takes place on the Westside’s Broadhurst Theatre, it’s a simple hop, skip, and jump for any Glenwood residents living at Emerald Green.

The show plays all of January, and will be completing its final performance in March, so don’t delay in securing your tickets.

Three Kings Parade: January 5th

The El Museo del Barrio presents the 41st Annual Three Kings Day Parade and Celebration, happening on January 5th from 11am to 12:30pm. The parade celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the Latino community, both locally and further abroad. The parade route begins on 106th Street and Lexington Avenue and ends on 115th Street and Park Avenue, making it perfect for Glenwood residents living in Upper East Side buildings, such as Hampton Court. The family friendly day will feature real animals (think: camels and sheep!), puppets, musicians, dancers, and plenty of children and community members decked out in festive costumes. The event is free, and a great way to continue on the celebratory festivities from December!
