Things To Do In September

The Central Park bridge on a fall day

With the first day of September comes thoughts of going back to school, getting supplies and new clothes ready, and generally preparing for the fresh year ahead! With the start to a new school year, we encourage you to fill your calendar with fun things to do around NYC! We have rounded up five of our favorites below. After all, this could be the year that you dedicate to making the very most out of this beautiful city you call home!

The Feast Of San Gennaro: September 12th-22rd

This annual Italian street fair, that will be enjoyable for just under two weeks, The Feast of San Gennaro, has been going strong since 1996. This Downtown event features live music, parades, ethnic foods, and plenty of eating contests. What could be better than eating your weight in cannoli and meatballs?! The festival is free, family friendly, and takes place in Little Italy between Grand and Mott Streets. If you like live music, that starts around 7:30pm.

Museum Day Live: September 22nd

On September 22nd, join the fun for Museum Day Live. This event allows you to reserve a free ticket for two people to visit a NYC museum, absolutely free! This is a great way to take advantage of visiting a museum that otherwise would cost $25 a head (thus saving your $50!). NYC highlights include the Intrepid Air and Space Museum on the Westside, Cooper Hewitt, and the Asia Society and Museum on the Upper East Side. Click here to see a list of available museums! There are so many like the New York Fire Museum!

Do something good this month, while having a truly unique NYC experience. The Central Park Zoo is having an event called Sip For The Sea on September 26th from 6:30 to 9:30, which is a benefit for the NYC aquarium. The tickets start at $200, and will get you pairings of sustainable wines with seafood and hors d’oeuvres, an evening of live music, and the knowledge that you are helping the Wildlife Conservation Society do what they do best. The event is for 21+, making it a great date night under the stars, or a fun event to get dressed up for to spend a night on the town with friends. Glenwood residents living on the Upper East Side, specifically at The Fairmont, will love the ease of walking here.
