New Taste Of The Upper West Side: June 3rd-4th, 2016

The perfect festival for Uptown foodies, the New Taste of the Upper West Side is an annual celebration of all the prominent chefs who have flocked to the Upper West Side in recent years.  You’ll get to sample dishes and drinks from 45 of the very best UWS chefs, and feel good doing it because all net proceeds from this event are dedicated to neighborhood projects.

Jazz Age Lawn Party: June 11th-12th, 2016

Where my roaring 20’s fans at?!  If Gatsby and all things glitzy are your jam, then the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governors Island is an essential annual summer stop, where you’ll get to dress the part with festive, period-appropriate attire and dance the day away in the open summer air.  Leave the 21st century behind for the delights of the Prohibition-era.

Museum Mile Festival: June 14th, 2016

Every June for one day only, New Yorkers from near and far come out to celebrate Museum Mile–where seven of the world’s greatest Museums, spread along 23 city blocks, allow free access.  Along with reveling in these museum gems, you’ll also enjoy a shut-down Fifth Avenue, lined with live bands, art, and entertainment.  Read more about the Museum Mile Festival! (It absolutely deserves its own spotlight!)

Philharmonic In The Park: June 17th, 2016

Ahh, how we love Central Park in the summer!  Especially this special evening, when The New York Philharmonic performs Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, and more outside on the Great Lawn in Central Park.  Besides being a quintessential NYC experience, this also wins points for being free.  Join thousands of New Yorkers, and bring your blankets, picnics, (maybe even a little rose if you’re feeling really festive!), and stay for the gorgeous fireworks that finish up the show.

Coney Island Mermaid Parade: June 18th, 2016

The Coney Island Mermaid Parade is one of NYC’s freakiest, most iconic events.  Each year, thousands of spectators flock to Surf Avenue, Coney Island’s main drag, to watch King Neptune and Queen Mermaid lead a procession of glittery (sometimes semi-nude) marchers in costumes through the neighborhood.  It’s worth the schlep on the subway for the Instagram potential alone, we promise!
