NYCxDESIGN

New York’s annual celebration of design, NYCxDESIGN, is taking place May 11th – 23rd. The event showcases over a dozen design disciplines through exhibitions, installations, trade shows, panels, product launches, open studios, and more. It’s an ideal way to get inspired for decorating your own Glenwood apartment! And, like design itself, NYCxDESIGN is everywhere in the city. You can find things happening across the city’s five boroughs, so you’ll be able to attend something no matter which Glenwood neighborhood you reside in, be it The Stratford on the Upper East Side or the Barclay Tower Downtown. And a bonus to this design fair? Almost all the events are free to enter!

Don’t miss these!

  • Learning to dye natural indigo at West Elm
  • “What makes a renovation worth it” discussion with Brooklyn Designs
  • Walking tour of modern design in the West Village and Meatpacking District

International Contemporary Furniture Fair

On May 20th through 23rd (with the Public Day being the 23rd), the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) is coming to the Javits Center on the Westside. The ICFF is America’s main platform for global design, and will feature more than 36,000 interior designers, architects, retailers, representatives, distributors, facility managers, developers, manufacturers, store designers, and visual merchandisers. You’ll be able to get a sneak peek at custom international furniture, unique materials, high end kitchen and bath designs, novel concepts in residential space lighting, luxury stone and wood custom flooring. Whether you’re looking for ways to spruce up your own interior or perhaps inspiration for a weekend home outside the city (or finding an interior designer to do the work for you!), the ICFF is absolutely the right place to go!
