The month of May is the perfect time to get out and explore New York City for a handful of reasons: the weather is comfortable, more and more outdoor events pop up, and the feeling of spring takes over every street in Manhattan. We encourage Glenwood residents and visiting tourists alike to mark the following outdoor events in your May calendar!

National Bike Month in New York City

Have you noticed more and more bicycles pedaling through your Upper East Side neighborhood this spring? Whether you’re a newbie to the bike scene or a seasoned pro, mark down Bike Month on your May calendar. There are a ton of pedal-powered events taking place throughout NYC, so even if you aren’t an avid biker, you won’t feel left out!

Bike Expo New York is a great event to kick off this month-long celebration. From May 4-5th, check out the largest bicycle expo on the East Coast. While this event is in Brooklyn, the venue is right across the East River for residents of The Somerset and The Stratford. Another option is to check out bike-friendly paths in nearby parks. For residents of The Marlowe, Central Park is a hop, skip, and a few pedals away for an afternoon family bike ride.

Can’t make it to a local bike ride or nearby park to pedal around your neighborhood? Check out our list of spin studios in the West Side of Manhattan. You may just cycle into a new hobby!
