Whenever you find yourself needing a bit of fresh rejuvenation, there are two things that almost always bring a pep to your step: ice cold water and fresh pressed juices. While this doesn’t necessarily mean a “juice cleanse”, I find that by incorporating at least one juice a day into my diet, my skin glows a bit more, I don’t snack quite as much, and I have enough energy to tackle whatever NYC decides to throw at me! While pressing juices at your Glenwood apartment is always an option, sometimes treating yourself is just as sweet. We’ve rounded up a few favorite places to get a delicious and nutritious juice below.

Joe & The Juice

Joe & The Juice has taken Manhattan by storm, as it seems like new locations have popped up all over. This is great for Glenwood residents of the West Side, Upper East Side, and Downtown areas, as it makes grabbing your daily juice super convenient. They live by the motto, “A juicer is not a machine”, and judging by the amount of friendly staff they have manning the fruits and veggies behind the counter, this couldn’t be more true.

Customer favorite juices at this spot include:

  • The Hearty Heartbeet beetroot, avocado, banana, pineapple and apple, and takes on a gorgeous deep pink hue
  • Hell of a Nerve features the sweetness of strawberry, elderflower, and banana

You can also order shots here (shots of fruits and veggies, that is!), which are great for jumpstarting a week of clean eating. We hear the Electro Shot is a big hit, which is purely fennel and apple, but boy does it do more for your focus than 10 cups of coffee! Speaking of coffee, their iced options are delicious treats as the weather warms up.

Juice Generation

Juice Generation has been on the New York juice scene since 1999, which pretty much puts them at the forefront of juicing. They promote daily that “healthy living can be accessible to everyone – and that the key to a sustainable lifestyle is good habits that stick.” Their juices and offering of healthy snacks are made from locally sourced and organic fruits and veggies. Our favorite includes:

  • Supa Dupa Greens – ideal if you’re going for the super healthy green juice, and includes apple, celery, collard greens, cucumber, kale, lemon, parsley, and spinach
  • Tropical Lust – a luscious blend of apple, pineapple, ginger, and watermelon

The Juice Generation team also offers açai bowls – which are picture perfect, and oh so healthy, combinations of fresh fruits, crunch granola, and other tasty ingredients. If you’re in a rush, their super on-the-go meals (Quinoa and Kale, Amazing Greens, etc.) are the perfect way for residents of nearby The Somerset keep your health and energy levels up through your busy NYC day!

If you live outside of NYC, you can take advantage of their Blend It Yourself Subscription Program, which lets you set up a schedule to have the washed and prepared goods delivered to your door. All you have to do is add your liquid, pour it in a blender, and sip! Here’s to good health, and good juice!

  • Mother Earth celery, kale, Swiss chard, dandelion, parsley, lemon, ginger, and cucumber
